This course introduces key theoretical perspectives and social controversies related to data-driven, algorithmic, and AI technologies through the lens of Critical Data Studies. Through conceptual applications and real-world case studies, it helps students critically examine the socio-political implications of how emerging data-driven and AI technologies are designed, institutionalized, governed, and contested across different social and cultural contexts.
