ICMS5730Digital Automotive IC Design
3 CreditsDiv of Electronic EngineeringLecture

The emerging intelligence of automotive vehicles, robots, unmanned aerial vehicles and industry equipment requires increasingly powerful computing capability embedded in vehicles, which motivates the eager demand for automotive Integrated Circuit (IC). Automotive IC is required to implement the functions needed by the electronic systems in vehicles and equipment, and to be with such characteristics as high reliability and robustness. This course intends to provide for the enrolled students with the knowledge of automotive IC, including the characteristics, design, related software and application. Further more, such advanced knowledges as AXI bus, SoC (System on Chip), high level of IC design and verification language SystemVerilog, UVM (Universal Verification Methodology) will also be provided, which is required for complicated IC in other domains besides vehicles. The students can therefore be with knowledge and design capability for both automotive IC and universal complicated IC.The content of this course is composed of the following parts: 1) Electrical and electronic architecture of vehicle; 2) Particulars of automotive IC; 3) CAN (Controller Area Network); 4) Design methodology of digital automotive IC; 5) AXI bus; 6) Hardware and software of SoC (System on Chip); 7) SystemVerilog; 8) UVM. The students to be enrolled in this course are required to be with basic knowledge of digital IC design.
